DimeBags Project – 2006 to Present
10 Pennies in a Plastic Bag
“What did you do with your 10 cents? (email address)”

Stapled to telephone poles around Portland, Oregon starting in August 2006.

What do you do with your spare change? What happens to money when you put it directly back into the community? What does the word dimebag mean to you, and to your community?

Total put back Into PDX: $4.30

If you would like to contribute pennies to this project, please contact me at the email address below.
I encourage you to spread this project to your community!

Instructions:

1) Put 10 pennies in a plastic bag.
2) Download the text image , print it out, and cut out the text and email address into individual strips.
(download image)
3) Insert text strip into bag, and seal bag with tape or staple.
4) Staple up or leave the bags somewhere in your community.
5) (Optional) Email me who you are, how much you put back into your community, and where you placed them.

“Last week while on a walk in NE I found a dimebag. I put the 10 pennies in a 2 gallon jug that I have been using to collect pennies for the last few years. I plan on cashing these pennies in and using them on my trip to NYC next month. Thanks!”
